DAIGO DOJIMA

After being introduced to the Tojo Clan, Mine meets the Sixth Chairman, Daigo Dojima. With his support, Mine quickly climbs yakuza ranks and soon becomes chairman of his own group within the organization. Contrary to Mine's personal beliefs, he finds in Daigo someone whom he can genuinely admire and sincerely cares for. Daigo's injury, facing death, drives Mine to the brink of despair as a result.

KAZUMA KIRYU

Much of what he knows about the Tojo Clan's Fourth and former chairman has come from Daigo. Mine is in favor of having Kiryu stand in as the acting chairman while Daigo is out of commission, however, he has formulated his own opinion of the man. Mine considers him a selfish and unreliable person, who is unaware and uncaring of his continuing influence in the underworld. He openly disagrees with the man's methods and his worldview.

TSUYOSHI KANDA

Initially Mine bribes Kanda in order to be introduced to the Tōjō-kai. The Nishikiyama Family, through Kanda as its Third Chairman, receives large amounts of money from him. Meanwhile, Mine finds Kanda's personality disagreeable and eventually distances himself.

ANDRE RICHARDSON

The leader of the arms smuggling organization Black Monday and CIA double agent. With an interest in information Richardson is able to provide him with, Mine temporarily allies himself with the man.

KATASE

Mine's secretary. She seems accepting of his frank judgement and focus. However, she also shows her concern regarding his involvement in the events surrounding the Okinawa land deal.

MINE'S ADOPTIVE FATHER

A man who worked hard, trying to provide for young Yoshitaka, who had been orphaned at birth. Unfortunately, money was steadily short and they lived in poverty. He died after a brief illness when Mine was still young, leaving him alone in the world.

AKIRA NISHIKIYAMA

CRAU, set in 1998
After Matsushige's murder, whom Mine had originally bribed as a way to be introduced to the Tojo Clan, he contacts the patriarch of the Nishikiyama Family in order to continue his donations. Nishikiyama himself at first chooses to remain wary of Mine's motives, but several obstacles and interactions reveal that the two men have in common their disenchantment with human relationships. Both of them find shared interest in advancing the Nishikiyama Family to the very top of the Tojo Clan. Meanwhile, Mine sees in the other more than an ally to gain influence among the yakuza. That feeling is revealed to be mutual.
