Mine reveals his feelings towards the dying Sixth Chairman of the Tojo Clan, his own ambitions, and his plans for Daigo’s imminent death by his hand. Following Mine's confrontation with Kiryu, Daigo does not miraculously awaken from his comatose, uncertain stat, and does not grant Mine relief from his want for power in his absence.
As much as Mine’s capabilities leave him to take the seat of chairman, so do the murders, by Mine’s own hand or another, and the disappearances of the former Tojo officers in line with him. A bitter taste lingers with Daigo’s death, the passing of his friend and Mine’s faith in true loyalty and human bonds beyond, but it also reinforces his want for power, the last thing he would set his heart on.
Going forth, Mine heads the Kanto’s Tojo Clan as its Seventh Chairman.
A few, important notes:
- The canon storyline and events of Yakuza 4, Yakuza 5 and Yakuza 6 obviously DO NOT as such take place (up for discussion, though).
- Similar to the other AU, the remnants of the Nishikiyama Family are absorbed into Mine’s Hakuho Association.
- Evidently he did not jump from Toto Hospital’s roof.
- Daigo is DEAD. He died in his coma at the culmination of Yakuza 3′s story.
- Black Monday was found and eliminated by the legitimate CIA. With Andre Richardson’s demise, general leads to the Tojo Clan’s involvement in the illegal arms trade vanish. Mine’s collaborative relationship with the politician Shoyo Toma remains known to those initiated, maintained and potentially active.
